Quest Reborn How to Beat Gilded Skies
Jade, gold, Lumenflame, and the dragon door after Northern Lands.
Gilded Skies is the fifteenth dungeon. It shipped on 25 November 2022, almost a year after Northern Lands. The theme is a jade-and-gold civilization that worships Lumenflame magic under the Gildenscales. You need level 190 for Insane and 195 for Nightmare. Community health checks sit around 1.2B–1.8B on Insane (600M glass) and 1.8B–2.7B on Nightmare (900M glass). The timer is eleven minutes. Ten rooms. If those numbers still look like Northern Lands with extra zeros, stay on Odin until a clear feels cheap.
This walkthrough assumes Controls and a dedicated Warrior or Mage. Online parties make Kiryne’s look-away test and Cragg’s chain orbs sane. Use the dungeon checker before you waste four other players’ timer.
What the hallway throws at you
Four pack types share the map. Dracani Warriors leave a lingering rectangle and slash six times — step out, do not tank the full string. Dracani Knights slam a circle the way Aquatic Temple guards do; the slam hits harder than the walk-up. Dracani Mages fire an X-beam that stuns and applies anti-heal for about three seconds. Familiars are floating Lumenflame heads that draw a lingering line. Kill mages first when the pack allows it. Anti-heal is why a healer in the group still watches people drop.
Gilded Skies, The Underworld, Samurai Palace, and Yokai Peak share the long ten-room layout. You do not get a short tourist route. Budget the timer for two mini-bosses plus Vytelus, not for sightseeing the jade.
Archpriest Kiryne
Room three. Kiryne is the mage lieutenant. Her passive Lumenflame Burst asks you to face away until the look-away text dies — about 180 degrees. Players who keep camera-locked on her chest eat a 12–15x slam on a loop. The statue behind her then lasers four random players; keep moving. Green circles are the shockwave safe spots. Purple orbs chase, then repeat. Red curved circles stun. Vertical beams overlap the circles. Learn the look-away first. Everything else is movement you already practiced on Northern mages.
General Cragg
Room seven. Cragg is the warrior lieutenant with a spear and shield. Passive red beams scatter every few seconds. His slam throws expanding rings in six directions and still hits the spear plant, so standing under him is not a hide. Chain Link tags one or two players with an explosive orb — the tagged player must touch it before later beam cycles or the whole party pays. Cursed Flames paints a player red and drops lingering circles on them. Flame Burst then asks everyone into moving safety rings while beams keep falling. X-Blast and a pulsing grid finish the cycle. A falling boulder telegraphs with a growing circle and hits like a truck. Call the chain. Do not all stack on the cursed player.
Vytelus, the Dragon Lord
Room ten. Vytelus is the last dragon lord on this map, a winged mage with a oversized Daybreak. Red orbs spawn from the arena edges every few seconds, explode on contact, and apply stun plus anti-heal. Spawn positions can trigger those orbs on people who just revived — take a step before you start the opener. Flame Barrage draws a fire line into a player, then horizontal beams. The rest of the kit is more Lumenflame geometry: lines, circles, and look-away habits you already paid for on Kiryne. Save a mobility or i-frame button for the overlap, not the first telegraph.
Treat every circle as lethal. The Abilities tier list is how you replace leftover mid-game buttons before this door, not after the third wipe.
Loot you actually keep
Best sets are Gildenscale Warrior, Gildenscale Mage, and Gildenscale Guardian. Best named weapons people still talk about are Gildenscale Oath And Aegis and Daybreak And Gildensong. This dungeon is one of the first late maps that does not highlight Legendary abilities the way Volcanic through Northern do. Do not camp Kiryne for Enhanced Inner Rage. Farm the matching armor and weapon, then move. How to get legendaries still wants Nightmare. Hardcore still adds rolls if you can finish on one life.
Gregg can appear as a rare extra. Take the interaction, then get back on the eleven minutes. Building a week around Gregg is how accounts stall between Odin and Sarugami.
After Gilded Skies
Yokai Peak is the sixteenth door: level 200 / 205, fifteen minutes, Tatsu through Sarugami. Abyssal Void is still the seventeenth and the weapon ceiling. Do not skip Yokai because a thumbnail said Voidspire is cool. Bank a Gildenscale set or a fair trade, then walk the torii.
Wave Defense does not cover this map. Later doors dropped the mode. Boss Raids are a different queue with rings and daily limits — useful gold, not a Gilded skip.
Codes will not open Vytelus. Daily rewards will not either. This map is a look-away and chain-orb check. Bring friends. A quiet four-stack that calls anti-heal will beat a pug that stares at Kiryne because the robe looks expensive.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What level do I need for Gilded Skies?
190 for Insane and 195 for Nightmare. Come with more than a billion health or a planned glass cannon.
Why do I keep dying to Kiryne without a telegraph?
Her passive burst needs you to face away until the look-away text ends. Camera-lock on her face is a wipe loop.
Do Legendary abilities drop here?
Not the way they do from Volcanic through Northern Lands. Farm Gildenscale gear, then move to Yokai Peak.
Should I skip this map for Abyssal Void?
No. Yokai Peak sits between Gilded Skies and the void. Finish this Nightmare, then walk the next door.
