Quest Reborn How to Beat Northern Lands

Eleven minutes, anti-heal mages, and a bonus Odin that opens Ultimates.

Last updated:

Northern Lands

Northern Lands is the fourteenth dungeon and the first map most accounts treat as “real endgame.” You need level 180 for Insane and 185 for Nightmare. Community health checks sit around 550M–750M on Insane (or a 240M glass cannon) and 850M–1.5B on Nightmare (400M glass). The timer is eleven minutes. If those numbers scare you, stay on Enchanted Forest and read How to level fast.

This walkthrough assumes you already know Controls and have a dedicated Warrior or Mage. Online parties make the bonus boss sane.

What the map throws at you

Packs mix Northern Warriors (melee AoE), Spearmen (ranged stun), and Mages (anti-heal). Anti-heal is why random pubs die with a healer in the group: the heal lands for nothing if you ate a mage bolt. Kill mages first or sidestep the projectile. Shift Lock helps you see the tell.

Two mini-bosses show up before Odin. The Midgardian Champion uses beams, vortex orbs, and shuriken patterns. Bob the Frost Giant uses moving ice beams, a slam, a targeted burst, colored bombs you defuse by touching the matching spike, and stun lines. Colored bombs are a control test. If you panic-press both abilities, you will still be standing on the wrong color.

Odin, the main boss, stacks AoE and anti-heal. Treat every circle as lethal. Save a mobility or i-frame style skill if your loadout has one. The Abilities tier list is how you replace leftover mid-game buttons.

Odin Reincarnation

After you kill Odin on Nightmare, the game offers a bonus fight: Odin Reincarnation. You get about five minutes and three lives even in Hardcore. The arena shifts from blue to red. This is the door to Ultimate weapons such as Hofund (warrior) and the matching mage Ultimate. Drop rates are ugly — community math sits near 1 in 1,982. Legendaries on the main clear sit near 1 in 555. Read How to get legendaries so you do not expect a purple every lockout.

Do not queue the bonus if your party is already on fumes. A wipe here still costs time. Extra Item and Hardcore extra rolls apply to the bonus loot; they do not soften the fight.

Gregg and crafting side paths

Gregg can appear as a rare extra. He is a loot and crafting detour, not a replacement for Odin. If he shows, take the interaction, then get back on the timer. Building your week around Gregg is how accounts stall.

Crafting legendaries at the blacksmith is a gold sink for people who already understand pots. If you cannot yet trade without getting scammed, do not dump a week of gold into a craft you cannot price.

Loadout notes

Warriors should already be ability-first, not auto-swing-first. Physical sets from later mid maps (Aquatic, Enchanted, leftover Northern legendaries like Mjolnir) are the on-ramp. Mages want Spell Power and a heal that still matters when anti-heal is down. Check the Weapons and Armor lists before you vendor a usable epic because the name is old.

Use the dungeon checker if you are not sure you belong here. Showing up at 170 wastes four other players’ eleven minutes.

After Northern Lands

Gilded Skies and Yokai Peak sit between this map and Abyssal Void. The void is a different health game (billions). Do not jump it because a thumbnail said Voidspire is cool. Finish Northern Nightmare with a stable party, bank a Legendary or a fair trade, then walk the jade door.

Codes will not skip Odin. Daily rewards will not either. This map is a skill and gear check. If you want a video for the void farm later, that walkthrough embeds a 100-run tape. This page stays on the Norse door so the advice does not blur.

Bring friends. A quiet four-stack that calls anti-heal will beat a pug of six-figure viewers who refuse Shift Lock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What level do I need for Northern Lands?

180 for Insane and 185 for Nightmare. Come with hundreds of millions of health or a planned glass cannon.

How do I unlock Ultimate weapons here?

Clear Nightmare Odin, then accept Odin Reincarnation. Ultimates can roll from that bonus fight.

Why did our healer do nothing?

Northern mages apply anti-heal. Kill or dodge them before you expect Universal Heal to save a slam.

Is Gregg required?

No. He is a rare extra. Odin Reincarnation is the fight that matters for Ultimates.
