Quest Reborn Crafting Materials in Dungeon Quest
Four metals, four dungeon groups, one long-term account project.
Gregg drops crafting materials when you beat his 75-second timer. Those materials feed the Craftsman NPC in Lobby 1, who sells a ladder of non-tradable legendary weapons. This page lists every material, every dungeon that drops it, and the full Champion and Oracle craft chain so you can plan a farm without wasting runs on the wrong map.
If you have not met Gregg yet, read the Gregg guide first. If you do not know which dungeon matches your level, use the dungeon checker.
The four materials
Each Gregg kill drops 1 material most of the time (85% chance), 2 about 10% of the time, and 3 about 5% of the time. The material type depends on the dungeon you are in, not your level.
| Material | Dungeons |
|---|---|
| Warforged Metal | Desert Temple (remaster), The Underworld, Steampunk Sewers, Enchanted Forest, Abyssal Void |
| Obsidian Chunk | Winter Outpost (remaster), Samurai Palace, Orbital Outpost, Northern Lands |
| Gold Bar | Pirate Island, The Canals, Volcanic Chambers, Gilded Skies |
| Astral Amethyst | King’s Castle, Ghastly Harbor, Aquatic Temple, Yokai Peak |
Pick the shortest dungeon in each group to maximize kills per hour. Desert Temple remaster is the fastest Warforged Metal farm. Pirate Island is the fastest Gold Bar farm. King’s Castle is the fastest Astral Amethyst farm. Winter Outpost remaster is the fastest Obsidian Chunk farm.
Exchanging materials at the Craftsman
The Craftsman sits in the beginner lobby next to the blacksmith. He lets you exchange materials at a 2:1 ratio — two of any material for one of another. There is no Craftsman in Lobby 2. If you live on the trade floor, teleport back to Lobby 1.
The exchange is useful when you have a surplus of one material and need another for the next craft. Do not exchange early — you might need the surplus later.
The Champion and Oracle craft ladder
These are warrior (Champion) and mage (Oracle) legendary weapon lines. They are not tradable, not sellable, and not upgradeable. Stats are fixed. Crafting the next weapon in the chain deletes the previous one from your inventory. Pick one class and stay on that ladder.
Tier 1 — Level 80
- Champion’s Oath (warrior) / Oracle’s Gaze (mage)
- ~75K power
- Cost: 15 Warforged Metal, 5 Obsidian Chunk, 15 Gold Bar, 15 Astral Amethyst (50 total)
Tier 2 — Level 120
- Champion’s Fury / Oracle’s Wisdom
- ~4M power
- Additional cost: +20 Metal, +15 Obsidian, +20 Gold, +25 Amethyst (80 more; 130 total)
Tier 3 — Level 160
- Champion’s Judgement / Oracle’s Revelation
- ~44M power
- Additional cost: +15 Metal, +50 Obsidian, +40 Gold, +50 Amethyst (155 more; 285 total)
Tier 4 — Level 200
- Champion’s Destiny / Oracle’s Ascendance
- ~400M power
- Additional cost: +65 Metal, +75 Obsidian, +80 Gold, +100 Amethyst (320 more; 605 mats total)
Destiny and Ascendance are a long-term account project, not a weekend grind. They sit below Voidspire and Effigy for a finished Warrior or Mage in Abyssal Void. Use them as a guaranteed ladder while you wait on bonus-boss luck.
Practical farm tips
- Run the shortest dungeon in each material group. Time is more important than difficulty for Gregg spawns.
- Gregg can appear once per run. If you miss him, reset and try again.
- Hardcore mode does not change Gregg’s material drop count, but it doubles your regular loot.
- Gilded Skies and Yokai Peak have the most rooms, so Gregg has more chances to spawn there.
- Volcanic Chambers and Aquatic Temple are stingy — often only one Gregg-eligible room.
- New dungeon loot can sit behind a developer delay before Gregg can roll it. Void gear waited. Do not assume a brand-new door feeds the craftsman on day one.
Which ladder to pick
Warriors go Champion. Mages go Oracle. Do not split — a hybrid craft wastes gold and materials on a weapon you will replace. The Warrior build and Mage build pages explain which stat to stack.
If you are a tank or healer, the Champion or Oracle weapon is still better than most drops below Nightmare. Pick the one that matches your damage type.
Codes will not help with materials. The Codes Hub is empty. Daily rewards do not replace Gregg runs. If a trader offers you a Champion weapon, they are lying — those items cannot leave the account that crafted them. Inspect anyway: How to trade.
When the laugh starts, pick up your coin. When the shield drops, dump your abilities. When he leaves, vendor junk and go back to the Guides Hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many materials do I need for the full Champion or Oracle ladder?
605 total: 115 Warforged Metal, 145 Obsidian Chunk, 155 Gold Bar, 190 Astral Amethyst.
Can I trade Champion or Oracle weapons?

Which dungeon is best for farming Gregg materials?
The shortest one in each group: Desert Temple for Metal, Winter Outpost for Obsidian, Pirate Island for Gold Bar, King's Castle for Amethyst.
